AutoSuggest position below text box

The autosuggest box automatically sits itself underneath the text box for positioning, this will not always be the desired behavior.
i tried using the show and aftershow on the overlay, but these are not always fired as the autosuggest does not always hide itself (e.g. going from ting to tings in the suggestion box)

This can be hacked around by using margins within the overlay, but I agree there should be a way to set the position of the box.
